Anna University,Chennai -Review

Hy all,
I have reviewed few other universities on this blog in the recent days and even today I have an overview of an Indian university named “Anna University, Chennai”.  This University in Tamil Nadu is famous worldwide and also a very old one.

About Anna University, Chennai:
It was established in the year 1987on 4th of September as unitary type University.  It has Engineering, allied Sciences and technology study streams to offer. Besides this it also promotes research and the disseminating knowledge.  You get a perfect cooperation of academic knowledge with industrial communities. This University was established by integrating 2 very well-known institutions (technical) of Madras.  

·        College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG)(1794)
·        Madras Institute of Technology, Chrompet (MIT)(1949) and 3Technological Departments of the University of Madras.
·        Alagappa College of Technology (ACT)(1944)
·        School of Architecture and Planning (SAP)(1957)

 This vast Spread University is located in southern part of Chennai that has campus over 100 hectares. The MIT of Chrompet is the second largest campus that extends to more than 20 hectares. These campuses have various buildings that serve many needs of University. The 3rd campus extends to more than 80 hectares and is located at Taramani, Adyar.

Since the year 2001, it’s highly renowned Affiliated University that 426 Self-financing Engineering Colleges, 6 Government Colleges & 3 Government-aided Engineering colleges which is located in different various parts in the state of Tamilnadu. This university is member of Association of Indian Universities, the Association of Commonwealth Universities and also a Partner of UNESCO International Center for Engineering Education. It has gained Five Star Status by UGC for academic and research.

Director of this University, Prof .D P Kaliraj had the motto “Progress through knowledge”.  In present time, this university has 479 faculties with ratio of 1: 4.1. Faculty: Student

View about Anna University, Chennai:
The Fees are totally dependent on the eligibility criteria and the course opted for. This university has good being ranking and is established since long. It also has Distance Education courses, Library and lovely vast campus that attract many students.
This old university has many courses, disciplined faculty & good infrastructure.
